Jadyn at Safari Camp
Carol and I took the grandkids on an overnight safari trip to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center near Glenrose, Texas. The trip included two drives through the scenic 9 mile winding route which was filled with all kinds of animals. It also included accomadations at what is called the Foothills Safari Camp, which had small structures that were made to resemble tents. They are heated and cooled, which Carol liked. They also had full baths. And last but not least the package came with a really good hot breakfast which was served at the camp pavillion. The grandkids and their Nana and Tampaw had a lot of fun looking at, photographing, and feeding the animals. This shot was taking at the Safari camp right outside our tent. I was outside having fun taking night shots of the camp buildings under the star filled sky. I got Jadyn involved by letting her run around in front of the camer with a flashlight to create some abstract light images. She loved that. Then I positioned her in front of the camera and opened the shutter for a 30 second exposure. To light her I used my small LED headllamp and splashed her with about 1 seond or so of light. This is the resulting image. The camera settings I used were 30 second shutter speed, aperture of 2.8, Iso of 400, and a focal length of 14mm. Fun was had by all. Get out and enjoy the beauty!
